Agony had been DogDay’s reality for… years. Or had it been longer? Shorter? He didn’t know. All he knew was that he was truly alone. Why was he even alive? There was nobody left to set an example to. DogDay had started to think that CatNap simply liked torturing him. Maybe he was watching from afar, taking glee in this heretic’s suffering. When he was left alone, DogDay thought about the old days, before the Hour of Joy. When the Smiling Critters had first been unveiled, CatNap and DogDay were stated to be best friends. At least, until an incident involving CatNap dolls giving children nightmares led to the removal of CatNap from the Smiling Critters lineup and the pulling of all episodes of the tie-in cartoon. ‘Some best friend’, DogDay thought. After the Hour of Joy, CatNap had strung DogDay up here and torn him in two, in the prison hidden in the bowels of the Playhouse. Oh hi, long time no see here on dA. Yeah, I've just got back from my trip of trying out another art site, namely Buzzly.art. Yeah, that is the pit hole that is constantly on fire for 2 days now. Maybe you heard about the site, but never registered or you did so, but wasn't active and wondering what happened. Or you are waiting for the registration to open and be part of Buzzly. Please don't do that. In a moment I tell you why, if you have questions I try to answer and let's all learn about my nativity that led me to love a site then loose it all, partly because I did ignore the signs of lurking problems. Buzzly was an extremely promising art site, seriously had all the old dA vibes: wide open and friendly community, easy blogpost editor, custom HTML/CSS options. We didn't have groups yet, but they were promised to happen we just had to wait for them. Had 2 devs and several mods (I cannot recall how much they were in numbers 4 months ago, by now they reduced to eventually 0, but had

So… This AI thing… I wasn’t sure if I was going to talk on this issue or not, and what it means for me, the future of art as a career, DA, and my opinion on it and stuff. Buuut it seems everyone is talking about it, and some people are leaving DA as a result, so I just wanted to let you know where I’m at. First off, AI itself is a mixed bag of…. Meh. As we know, AI generators can not actually create unique and creative images out of no-where. Like humans, it creates what it has known and observed. Unlike humans, it’s not observing things from real life and instead observes data and images online. Unfortunately, that means using the images and data of art from real-life artists that were posted online. For the sake of reference, learning, exploring ideas, and so on, I actually think AI can be a really good resource, but in no way is clicking a button with key words your own original content. It’s a hodgepodge of images stolen from real artists online, and that’s where the issue with AI

Okay so I read some posts by the DeviantArt Team and I see that they've made soulless posts pushing AI bots to the forefront as they continue to ignore their users like they have the past five years. I guess that outside of DeviantArt Team pulling all of these Bruh Moments, people are possibly afraid the site will be overrun by nothing but bots, and AI will be pushed to the forefront, alongside the spam that resembles shitposts that some non-bot users unironically post, further burying real pieces by real artists. Art at this point has become premium access, only finding it if you dig through someone's nonstop Twitter/BlueSky/Instagram/Tumblr page and be lucky enough to happen upon gems, or even resorting to finding professional art on someone's portfolio (which... who's even gonna know where to begin to look for that???) I had a feeling that actual human communication would lose meaning at some point, and that thought of posting publicly to a platform of nothing but bots and
